Glowing in this special evening GasLight is...The One Big Billionaire Bounty Bill.
The budgetary bloodbath. They brought it back—stitched with secrecy, padded with power grabs, and paraded to the Senate floor for debate under cover of darkness.
The GOP’s budget monstrosity isn’t just a fiscal plan. It’s a crown, a sword, and a blank check—complete with “King-Making Provisions™” that tilt the balance of power toward the executive branch. If passed, it would:
Allow the president to reallocate funds without Congressional oversight in “emergency conditions” (which he now defines as “Fridays”).
Eliminate the accountability afforded by contempt of court allowing him to ignore court rulings without penalty (accountability isn't in the Trump gold plated dictionary...yours for a low, low donation of just $99.99K).
Ban enforcement of all local and state AI laws for 10 years (years to create and distribute deep fakes and disinformation supporting the monarchy).
Meanwhile, critical cuts to public health, housing, education, and scientific research stay locked in—because apparently curing cancer and feeding kids are “woke.” And the new price tag? $38.6 trillion in debt by 2034 — but don’t worry, they say it will pay for itself with patriotic fervor and trickle-down dreams. All so billionaires pay less in taxes. Read the original blog post here.
Wag the Dog was the weapon of choice under the cover of a virtual Trump Triple Play.
The GOP forced a 6:00PM start time, out of view of most press coverage (although opposition countered with amendment votes throughout the night until 4:00AM)
Trump increased rhetoric and boots on the ground rolling out ICE raids and the military police state in LA with threats of more to come in blue state cities
Trump accepted "the gift" (or did he say "grift"?) of growing Middle East hostilities and an opportunity to play "Maybe I will...Maybe I won't" while exchanging threats with Iran.
Procedure by distraction. Democracy by deception. Authoritarianism by ambush.
So here’s your call to arms (or at least keyboards):
📞 Call your reps.
💻 Email the ones hiding behind procedural smoke.
🗳️ Remind them that the only king this country ever accepted was Elvis—and even he had limits. And this bill cannot stand.
Because if we don’t kill this bill... It just might kill the Republic.
